Antivirus Reviews
GO Security
GO Security offers reliable real-time virus protection, but its other features are only average. Despite calling itself a “booster,” junk removal is not included in the core download and support resources are mediocre.
ClamWin
Antivirus protection doesn’t have to cost a fortune (or anything at all!). ClamWin protects Windows machines using an open source engine. While bells and whistles are certainly lacking, it provides enough features (and an active enough user-base) to make this a viable solution for those with basic needs.
MobiShield
Like day-old soda and far too many Adam Sandler movies, MobiShield is a flat disappointment. It adds almost no additional functionality to the iPhone’s built-in features, and like a bad phishing email from a deposed prince with millions of dollars to share with you, it’s riddled with poorly-written English. This is definitely one app you should avoid. Almost all antivirus companies have better iPhone products. Check out this list of the best free iPhone antiviruses, and choose one of them over MobiShield. Or look into Norton’s premium protection for iPhone.
Super Cleaner
Super Cleaner’s antivirus isn’t outstanding, but there’s plenty to like in its other features. For a free app, I was pleasantly surprised to see basic user support and—unlike much Android freeware—it isn’t filled with ads.
DFNDR Security
DFNDR Security has a slick, fast interface, but I had strong concerns about the effectiveness of its security features and virus scanning. On the positive side, there are some nice add-on tools and the cleanup components run very quickly to free up space.
