Bitdefender’s lightweight, cloud-based virus scanner detected and removed 100% of malware samples on my devices with zero impact on their performance. Because Bitdefender offloads most of its processing power to the cloud, it can run full disk virus scans without slowing down your CPU or browser, or draining your battery.

McAfee’s virus scanner successfully detected and removed 100% of the malware samples I had installed on my test devices. However, while a full system scan only took about an hour, it noticeably impacted performance. I could still perform basic tasks and browse the internet, but there was some buffering any time I streamed a video, and my screen kept freezing when I played CPU-intensive video games. In contrast, Norton and Bitdefender were faster than McAfee and didn’t affect my devices’ speeds or performance.
