Safety Detectives: What is the main service your company offers?

ThreatGEN: We provide a cybersecurity gamification platform, ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue.  ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue is a cutting-edge cybersecurity simulation and training platform that maximizes the value of your cybersecurity education, training, incident response tabletop exercises, and events, by leveraging the power of gamification and active adversary simulation. Active adversary simulation reinforces learning through practical application against an opponent, just as in real-life.

SD: What is something unique that helps you stay ahead of your competition?

ThreatGEN: ThreatGEN® Red vs. Blue gamification and training curriculums are created by highly experienced and world-renowned cybersecurity professionals, Clint Bodungen and Aaron Shbeeb. Their experience and thought leadership in the cybersecurity industry and community brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge into our gamification platform and curriculums. In fact, few people in the world have more OT/ICS cybersecurity experience. They are frequent presenters at industry conferences, cybersecurity community contributors, and trusted advisors throughout the industry. They wrote the book on industrial cybersecurity… literally

SD: What do you think are the worst cyberthreats today?

ThreatGEN: Apathy – none of us think that it can happen to us.  Security awareness programs are of the utmost importance, to ensure that everyone knows how easy it is to fall into traps.  Even cybersecurity professionals have to be warry every day with the e-mails, social media, and other risks that we ALL face.

One of my clients is a software as a service (SaaS) company with over 20,000 small clients, usually unsophisticated worked on heavy equipment worth millions of dollars and less than 10 employees.  The head of this SaaS company told me that fully 8% of their clients were experiencing ransomware attacks.  Now that is significant.
