NordPass, a leading password manager provider, recently announced a new addition to its security suite: the NordPass Authenticator. This innovative feature is designed to bolster the protection of sensitive data and accounts for NordVPN users.

The NordPass Authenticator adds an extra layer of security through two-factor authentication (2FA) for businesses using the NordPass password manager. This user-friendly feature not only helps safeguard crucial information but also offers convenience by streamlining the login process.

“NordPass combines something you know (your Master Password) with authentication through something you are (using fingerprint or Face ID) on something you have (your cellphone) in order to unlock the time-based one-time password,” NordPass said in a blog post. “Combining a multitude of factors results in a higher standard of security and genuine second-factor authentication that’s more than just two-step verification.

Setting up the NordPass Authenticator is a breeze. Users simply need to install the NordPass app on their devices and enable 2FA in their account settings. Once the feature is activated, users will receive a unique six-digit code on their mobile device each time they attempt to log in. By entering the code in addition to their regular password, users can ensure that their accounts remain secure even if their password is compromised.

For added convenience, the NordPass Authenticator also supports push notifications. With this option, users can receive login requests directly on their mobile devices, allowing them to approve or deny access with just one tap. This expedites the login process and minimizes the risk of unauthorized access.

The NordPass Authenticator is available for both Android and iOS users. The app is compatible with the most popular websites and services, including Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Dropbox, among others.

“NordPass Authenticator helps improve cross-team collaboration,” NordPass said in the blog post. “It allows members to share passwords that have second-factor authentication without having to coordinate live. Say goodbye to the hassle of sharing access with accounts that have 2FA. Now, your team can easily grant access with just a couple of clicks without compromising your company’s security.”
