How to Get a Czech IP Address in 2022 — Works 100%

Tim Mocan Tim Mocan

Short on time? Here’s the best VPN to get a Czech IP address in 2022:

  • 🥇 ExpressVPN: Works with Czech sites like Netflix Czechia, provides blazing-fast speeds, allows torrenting on its Czech server, and comes with excellent privacy and security features. Also has intuitive apps, allows up to 5 simultaneous connections, comes with affordable plans, and backs all purchases with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

The quickest and easiest way to get a Czech IP address is to use a VPN, which is an online service that lets you connect to VPN servers in different countries. Once you connect to a server, it will change your IP address to a new IP address that matches the country the server is in (like the Czech Republic, for example). That way, you can surf sites, download files, and watch videos as if you were actually located in the Czech Republic.

Also, when you connect to a VPN server, it encrypts your traffic — basically, it makes all your traffic unreadable to protect it from hackers. What’s more, VPNs are legal, affordable, and very secure.

I tested the most popular VPNs on the market, and I was able to get a Czech IP address with all of my top 3 VPNs.

3 Steps (Quick + Easy) to Getting a Czech IP Address in 2022:

  • Step 1. Pick a VPN. Choose a good VPN that has at least 1 Czech server. I recommend ExpressVPN — it has excellent security, works with Czech sites like Netflix Czechia, allows torrenting on its Czech server, and has very fast speeds for all online activities.
  • Step 2. Install the VPN. It only takes 1–2 minutes to download and install most VPNs (just follow the installation wizard’s instructions). If you plan on using the VPN on multiple devices, check how many simultaneous connections it allows — ExpressVPN, my top pick, allows 5 connections.
  • Step 3. Connect to a Czech server. Find the list of server locations in the VPN app, scroll down, and choose a Czech server. That’s it! Now you can enjoy the internet as if you were browsing in the Czech Republic.

The 3 Best VPNs for Getting a Czech IP Address

Quick summary of the best VPNs for getting a Czech IP address:

🥇1. ExpressVPN — Best VPN for Getting a Czech IP Address

🥇1. ExpressVPN — Best VPN for Getting a Czech IP Address

ExpressVPN is my favorite VPN for getting Czech IP address — while it has only 1 server in the Czech Republic, it provides the most consistent performance out of all the VPNs on this list (which is also why it’s ranked #1 on our list of the best VPNs in 2022).

ExpressVPN is also the fastest VPN on the list — during my tests, all Czech sites loaded instantly (including ad-heavy sites), HD and 4K videos didn’t buffer, I never experienced lag while gaming online, and I downloaded 40 GB files in 15 minutes (which is really fast).

And when I connected to ExpressVPN’s Czech server, I was able to surf any Czech site I wanted. What’s more, ExpressVPN works with top sites like Netflix — so if you have a Czech Netflix account and travel abroad, you can use ExpressVPN to watch your country’s titles. I also like how ExpressVPN allows torrenting on its Czech server.

And I like how intuitive ExpressVPN’s apps are — the interface is easy to navigate, all settings have quick explanations, and it’s very simple to find and connect to its Czech server.

I’m also happy that ExpressVPN comes with split-tunneling on Android, Windows, and macOS. It’s a feature that lets you choose which apps use the VPN connection and which apps use your local network. I tested ExpressVPN’s split-tunneling feature and was able to watch videos on Czech sites using the VPN and access my bank’s site using my internet service provider’s (ISP) network (most bank sites block VPNs).

And it’s really great that ExpressVPN’s no-logs policy has been independently audited and verified, and that the audit results are public — it makes it very easy to trust this VPN. What’s more, ExpressVPN has full leak protection and provides excellent security via advanced security features like perfect forward secrecy (changes the encryption key for each VPN connection to prevent hackers from compromising past or future encryption keys to spy on your traffic) and RAM-only servers (every server reset wipes all data).

ExpressVPN allows up to 5 simultaneous connections and has several paid plans that start at $6.67 / month — while ExpressVPN is pricier than some of its competitors, it makes up for it by providing excellent value. Also, it backs all purchases with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

🥈2. CyberGhost VPN — Great VPN for Beginners

🥈2. CyberGhost VPN — Great VPN for Beginners

CyberGhost VPN comes with 49 servers in the Czech Republic and makes it really easy to connect to them, so this is a good pick for people new to VPNs. The design is very intuitive (so you never feel lost using CyberGhost VPN) and there’s also a search field for instant access to the Czech servers — in my tests, it only took me 2–3 seconds to connect to them.

I also love CyberGhost VPN’s “Smart Rules” feature, which lets you automate VPN connections.  For example, you can configure CyberGhost VPN to automatically connect to a Czech server when you open the app.

CyberGhost VPN also provided me with good online speeds, but it’s not as fast as ExpressVPN — while Czech sites and HD videos loaded instantly, 4K videos took 4 seconds to load and there was minor buffering when I skipped through them. Also, it took me 35 minutes to download 40 GB files, which is 20 minutes more than how long it took me to download the same files with ExpressVPN.

On the plus side, CyberGhost VPN is really good for streaming and torrenting — it works with Czech sites including Netflix Czechia and it allows P2P traffic on all its Czech servers.

CyberGhost VPN’s no-logs policy has been audited like ExpressVPN, and I also like that it releases regular transparency reports that detail how many requests it receives for user data. I also like that CyberGhost VPN comes with advanced security features like RAM-only servers and that it has full leak protection (I ran 10+ leak tests and never saw my real IP address, just CyberGhost VPN’s Czech IP addresses).

CyberGhost VPN allows up to 7 simultaneous connections and has several paid plans that start at $2.03 / month. And I like that CyberGhost VPN backs its long-term plans with a generous 45-day money-back guarantee (it backs its shortest plan with a 14-day money-back guarantee).

🥉3. IPVanish — Good VPN for Multi-Device Connections

🥉3. IPVanish — Good VPN for Multi-Device Connections

IPVanish has 16 Czech servers and allows unlimited connections, meaning you can use it on as many devices as you want. I asked everyone in my house to connect to IPVanish’s Czech servers, and we all had good speeds for all online activities.

That said, IPVanish is slower than ExpressVPN and CyberGhost VPN — in my speed tests, Czech sites took 3–4 seconds to load, HD videos loaded in 5 seconds, and 4K videos took 9 seconds to load and there was noticeable buffering when I skipped through them. On the plus side, I had decent download speeds. It took me 33 minutes to download 40 GB files, which is slower than ExpressVPN but on par with CyberGhost VPN.

IPVanish’s Czech servers allowed me to browse most Czech sites, and I also like that IPVanish works with Netflix. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with other top streaming sites like Amazon Prime and HBO Go. But I like that IPVanish is really good for torrenting — all of its Czech servers allow P2P traffic and it works with top torrenting apps like qBittorrent and uTorrent.

IPVanish also makes it simple to connect to its Czech servers — the country locations are listed alphabetically, there’s a search field, and you can even use a digital map to access the Czech server.

And while I like that IPVanish comes with advanced security features like perfect forward secrecy, I don’t like that it’s missing WebRTC leak protection (ExpressVPN and CyberGhost VPN have full leak protection). I never saw any leaks in my tests (I only saw IPVanish’s Czech IP addresses), but I still recommend manually disabling WebRTC to be 100% safe.

IPVanish has affordable monthly and yearly plans that start at $3.19 / month — you also get a free subscription to VIPRE antivirus for Windows and Mac with the yearly plan. So if you want to get a Czech IP address and also need a good antivirus, I think IPVanish is a decent pick. IPVanish also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, but only for its yearly plan (ExpressVPN and CyberGhost VPN back all their plans with a money-back guarantee).

How to Choose the Best VPN for Getting a Czech IP Address

  • Servers in the Czech Republic. A VPN needs to have Czech servers — otherwise, it can’t provide you with a Czech IP address. All the VPNs I recommend have at least 1 server in the Czech Republic.
  • Strong security. All my top picks have essential VPN security features like a no-logs policy (to prevent the VPN from logging your IP address and traffic), 256-bit AES encryption, protection against IPv6, DNS, and WebRTC leaks, and a kill switch (disables online access if the VPN connection drops to protect you from traffic leaks).
  • Fast speeds. All VPNs slow down your speeds due to the encryption they use, but the best VPNs minimize the speed loss. I only recommend VPNs that have fast speeds for all online activities (ExpressVPN is the fastest on this list).
  • Streaming and torrenting support. Sites like Netflix offer different content libraries for each country, so if you have a Czech Netflix account and travel abroad, you might lose access to your country’s shows and movies. But, with a good VPN, you can watch Czech titles anywhere in the world. Also, all my top picks allow torrenting on their Czech servers.
  • Ease of use. I only recommend VPNs that have apps that are very simple to install and make it easy to find and connect to Czech servers.
  • Good value. All the VPNs on this list provide extra features (like split-tunneling), allow multiple simultaneous connections (ExpressVPN allows 5 connections), have affordable plans, and come with generous money-back guarantees.

Can I get a Czech IP address with a free VPN?

No, since many free VPNs don’t have servers in the Czech Republic. Even if you find a free VPN with Czech servers, I recommend avoiding it because free VPNs have slow speeds, place a monthly or daily limit on how much data you can use, have glitchy apps, and are missing important security and privacy features.

It’s much better to get a low-cost premium VPN like ExpressVPN, CyberGhost VPN, or IPVanish instead.

What’s the best VPN for getting a Czech IP address?

My favorite VPN for getting a Czech IP address is ExpressVPN — it works with Czech sites like Netflix Czechia, has very fast speeds, and provides excellent security and privacy features.

But the other VPNs on this list are also good optionsCyberGhost VPN is great for beginners and IPVanish allows unlimited connections and is good for torrenting.

Can I torrent with a Czech IP address?

Yes, you can use a Czech IP address to increase privacy and security while torrenting (but you need a good torrenting VPN). My favorite torrenting VPN is ExpressVPN — it works with popular P2P apps like Vuze and Deluge and provides blazing-fast download speeds.

Can I watch Netflix with a Czech IP address?

Websites like Netflix provide different content libraries for each country — if you have a Czech Netflix account and travel abroad, you might not be able to watch your country’s titles. But you can use a Czech IP address to watch Czech movies and TV shows in any country.

The best way to watch Netflix Czechia is to use a good Netflix VPN that has servers in the Czech Republic — I recommend ExpressVPN because it consistently works with Netflix Czechia, provides blazing-fast streaming speeds, and is easy to use.
