Numotion has announced that certain employee email accounts were accessed without permission between September 2, 2024, and November 18, 2024. While the company says there is no evidence of fraud or identity theft, they have reviewed the affected emails and confirmed that some customer information was involved.

“The type of information that may have been viewed varied for each individual, but could have included names, dates of birth, product information, payment and financial account information, health insurance information, medical information, and for a minority of individuals social security numbers and driver’s license numbers,” the press release stated.

Numotion has sent letters to affected individuals and is offering free identity theft protection to those whose Social Security numbers were included. The company advises customers to monitor their financial accounts and credit reports for any unusual activity and report anything suspicious to law enforcement.

Numotion says it is committed to protecting personal data and has set up a dedicated call center for anyone with questions.

“To date, we have no reason to believe that any personal information has been misused for the purpose of committing fraud or identity theft, but as a precautionary measure, individuals should remain vigilant to protect against potential fraud and/or identity theft by, among other things, reviewing their account statements and monitoring credit reports closely,” the statement said. “If individuals detect any suspicious activity, they should notify the entity with which the account is maintained, and promptly report any fraudulent activity to proper law enforcement authorities, including the police and their state attorney general.”
